Recently, I attended AICTE sponsored seminar on “Generation Towards IoT model and Cyber Security for the Internet Environment” at Kongu Engineering College, Erode, Tamil Nadu on 9th and 10th of November 2017. It was the first AICTE sponsored seminar which I attended. There were around 50 – 60 attendees who were Research Persons, Assistant Professor, PhD Scholars, and few students.

Why was it special for me?

The seminar was very special to me because of two reasons. One, it was my first visit to Tamil Nadu and second, one of the resource persons of the seminar was my best friend Praveen Hanchinal. We left Dharwad on 8th November 2017 at 5:30 am and reached Tamil Nadu by 10:30 pm. We stayed in Kongu Engineering College guest house that night.

On 09th November 2017, the seminar started at 10:00 am and the first person of the first-day seminar was my friend Praveen Hanchinal. I, as a participant of the seminar, enjoyed the session because of his unique, humorous analogies about the IoT. If I can say about him in few words, he is one of the potential resource persons, whom I ever met, on Cloud Computing, Big Data, IoT and Artificial Intelligence. He has been training, guiding and giving talks to the students as well as the Research Persons, PhD Scholars on cutting edge technologies for more than 5 years. Another specialty of Praveen Hanchinal is his unique way of presenting the subject to the audience with his humorous analogies which keep the audience’s interest till the end and that is the quality of a good speaker. To know more, I recommend to visit his blog and presentation from this link:

Next session was held by another resource person Sudip Misra from IIT Kharagpur. He spoke on the topic Internet of Things: Enabling Cross-Domain Convergence and Innovation.

On 10th November 2017, we visited the Isha Foundation located at Velliangiri Hills which is a spiritual organization founded in 1992 by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev. We spent about 4 hours at Isha Foundation. We meditated for 15 minutes at Dhayanlinga in Isha Yoga centre was a great moment and spiritual experience. We returned to Dharwad the next day on 11th November. Overall it was a great experience.
